STRUCTURE

1.    Causes of Stress
Examine the causes of stress in your life. Explore some of the most common causes of stress identified by research (biological, psychological, and social) and the psychology of stress.

2.    Stress Prevention Mindset
Discover practical methods for becoming more optimistic and resilient, such as self-talk and changing thinking habits. Find out how to control stress-causing emotions like anger, fear, anxiety, shame, jealousy, and regret.

3.    Stress Prevention Behaviours
Learn how to manage your time effectively, which includes accurately recognizing urgency and importance, effective planning, and most importantly, compartmentalizing different aspects of life. Examine the importance of healthy eating and exercise in stress prevention and be given some practical tips. Find out the critical importance of proper sleep and build a personal sleep plan.

4.    Stress Prevention Communication Strategies
Uncover Authentic Communication, which means taking responsibility, avoiding passive speaking, and being open to other people’s “truth”. Practice Assertive Communication, which means focusing on both your needs and the needs of others.

5.    Stress Management
Explores what do when you’re experiencing too much stress. Practice a variety of relaxation and deep breathing techniques designed to calm you down emotionally, mentally and physically. Learn how to use music, humor, visualization, and writing as tools for dealing with stress.
