WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP?

This workshop is designed for people who lead or will need to lead across cultures. Participants will explore the evidence supporting cross-cultural intelligence as a key leadership competency. They will also learn many practical tips on how to change their behaviour straight after the program.

METHODOLOGY

Training with Mango maximises action and interaction, blending individual and group exercises. Participants master key concepts through role plays, games, quizzes, case studies, discussions and reflective sessions

STRUCTURE

1.    Key Concepts
Explore what cultural intelligence (CQ) is and why it is increasingly important in today’s global environment. Discover the challenges of cross-cultural management and leadership and the impact CQ can have on business results.

2.    Your own CQ
Examines your current level of CQ and strategies on how you can improve it. Examine your attitudes to diverse workplaces and your motivation for developing your CQ.

3.    Understanding Values
Identify the different cultural values and what makes cultures similar and different. Explore strategies to adapt to working with and leading people from different cultures. Examine the dangers of stereotyping and learn how to avoid bias in decision-making.

4.    Communication
Learn how to switch from direct to indirect styles of communication and how to use inferencing, tact and diplomacy. Find out how you can communicate with greater clarity and regulate your language. Build a stronger understanding of taboos and etiquette to avoid offence, causing loss of face and losing trust.

5.    Leadership
Examine how perceptions of leadership vary across cultures. Discover how to lead diverse teams, and the impact of culture on teams and collaboration.
