This workshop is designed to help leaders in organizations look upwards and forwards. This enables them to spend more time anticipating the future than being preoccupied with operational issues. This workshop will cover both the mindset and tools needed to develop big picture thinking.

METHODOLOGY

Training with Mango maximises action and interaction, blending individual and group exercises. Participants master key concepts through role plays, games, quizzes, case studies, discussions and reflective sessions

STRUCTURE

1.    Zooming Out
Learn to identify when you are too zoomed in at work. Discover the telltale signs that you are overly detail focused. Explore case studies of organizations which have failed through a lack of big picture thinking.   

2.    Mindset
Learn the thinking levels of big picture thinking: analyzing, evaluating and synthesis. Identify the subskills of each level.  Discover how to foster your inner critic and challenge the status quo.

3.    Setting
Yourself Up Learn to breakout of siloed thinking. Explore and critically evaluate information on the outside. Leverage your network and external stakeholders. Learn to anticipate trends and changes. Look for patterns in other industries.

4.    Big Picture Techniques
Explore some of the ways to anticipate the future and examine the business landscape . Find out how to use Balanced Scorecard, SWOT and PESTLE analysis, Blue Ocean Strategy and Porter’s  Five Forces. Find out how to use techniques like Debugging and Worst Case Scenario to anticipate problems. Learn how to see through different lenses by perspective taking.

5.    Thinking Space
Learn how you can find thinking space through effective delegation, setting expectations and building trust. Explore how to coach your staff to solve problems, take risks and embrace failure. Build time and space for big picture thinking.
